Welcome back (or almost back...?) to you current students, faculty, and staff! We are at 137 likes right now... can we get to 150 by the end of the day? To 200 (a big goal!) by the first day of classes...? Help us out... spread the word... tell your friends...!!! :)
Dear MC Family, Hello, my name is Nikki Wilks, and I am a proud 2012 alumna of the college. After Maryville, I moved to Memphis to join a program called Memphis Teacher Residency (www.memphistr.org, http://mtrlife.org/profiles/nikki-wilks, http://memphistr.org/cceexplained). This fall I will start my second year in the classroom teaching sophomore and senior English at Kingsbury High School(www.kingsburyhs.org) in the Graham Heights community (http://memphistr.org/grahamheights). As many of you know, funding is slim in the education world. Therefore, I need your help. If you could, please check out my project and my friends' projects here in Memphis and consider donating (http://mtrgive.org, http://mtrgive.org/campaign/ms-wilkss-visible-thinking). Any little bit would help. I am raising funds to get a document camera to help model thinking for students and organizational supplies to help my classroom management. If you would like more info, please check out the links above or feel free to email me at email@example.com. Thank you so much for your on-going support and encouragement as I do my work here in Memphis. Sincerely, Nikki Wilks firstname.lastname@example.org
Please join MC students Sarah Smith, Loudine Louis, & Jenny Carter as they facilitate a session entitled "Check Ya Privilege" on how to be an ally to specific minority groups (as part of an assignment for their Social Psychology class). Other panelists will include MC students MarQuis Chappell & Jose Perez. The session will be held on Wed. 4/23 at 6:30 pm in Lawson Auditorium. Hope to see you there!
