Lecturer in Composition

Jannis Taylor came to the Maryville College community in 2000 as part of the Learning Center staff. There she supervised tutoring programs, led Orientation groups, and taught study skills classes and first-year seminars. In 2011, she joined the faculty to support the first-year Composition sequence.

For eight years, Taylor wrote a newspaper column about the collection and various resources of Blount County Public Library. She has also published shorter series about homework, family, and lifelong learning.

Her professional interests include taxonomies of learning, media literacy, instructional technology, literature, and yoga.
