Bio

I was born and raised in Maryville, TN. I graduated from Maryville College with a major in business and minors in sociology and history. While I was a senior at MC I also took night classes from the University of Tennessee Knoxville to become a certified Wedding Coordinator.  As a student at MC, I worked with the children’s department at my church and was a mentor for middle school students through YOKE Youth Ministries. After graduating, I continued my job as a Trade Show Coordinator for Multi-Media Solutions, an audio-visual integration company, where I also worked throughout my college career. Additionally, I was a Wedding Coordinator for many of my fellow Maryville College graduates and married another MC alumnus as well!  My husband, Kevin, and I have one dog, Laila.

Why I love MC

Although I grew up in Maryville, I did not visit Maryville College until my senior year of high school. Boy, was I missing out! The second I stepped onto this campus I fell in love with it! I knew immediately that this is where I wanted to go to college. From Freshman Orientation to sporting events, from the classroom to the library, and from staying with friends on campus to eating in Isaac’s and Pearsons, the more of the MC community I experienced the more I absolutely loved it! More importantly, it was obvious that every single person I came in contact with on this campus was in love with it, too!

During my four years here as a student I was a commuter. Yet, I never once felt isolated. My freshman year I kept a box of cereal and a sleeping bag in my best friend’s dorm room and I spent the night often. I loved being able to hang out in the residence halls with all my friends even though I did not live there. I also enjoyed hanging out in Isaac’s Café and Pearsons in between classes. There were always ways to stay connected. However, what I found most special about Maryville College was how involved the professors were. Every professor I had was genuinely interested in seeing me succeed both inside and outside of the classroom; and it seemed as though each one remembered me by name.

I am still in awe of how Maryville College draws people in. There is just a spirit of unity on this campus unlike anything I have ever experienced. Each member of the faculty and staff, as well as students and alumni believe in Maryville College and are devoted to its mission and purpose. I feel incredibly honored to be a part of such a wonderful group of people and I am so excited by the opportunity to meet and welcome new members to the MC Community everyday!
