The semifinals of the 2009 Great South Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship Tournament are set. Agnes Scott and Salem advanced with first round wins Saturday.
Agnes Scott, seeded third, downed sixth-seeded LaGrange 3-1. The Scotties broke a 1-1 halftime tie with two second half goals. Salem, the number four seed, blanked fifth seeded Spelman 2-0.
The semifinals and championship match will be held at Maryville College beginning Friday, Nov. 6. Salem will face top seed and tournament host Maryville at 12 p.m. Agnes Scott will play second seeded Piedmont at 2 p.m. The winners will meet in the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
