The Orchestra at Maryville College (formerly known as "MACCO") presents its fall concert Oct. 27 in Wilson Chapel on the Maryville College campus. Beginning at 7:30, this concert officially opens the Orchestra's 2003-2004 season.
Lee Kull conducts the orchestra, which is made up of professional and volunteer musicians from the community and college.
Performances planned for the Oct. 27 concert include movements from Handel's "Suite from the Water Music," "Evening Prayer" from Humperdinck's opera Hansel and Gretel, Slavonic Dance, Opus 47, No. 8 by Dvorak and Shubert's "Unfinished" symphony, Symphony No. 8 in B minor.
Another work, Edward Elgar's famous "Enigma Variations," will be performed in memory of Thomas T. Evans, an alumnus of Maryville College and faithful supporter of the College's fine arts program. Evans passed away Sept. 7.
