MC Quick Fact

With the recent addition of the Proffitt-Lusk Scholarship, 101 endowed scholarships have been established to benefit students at the College. The minimum requirement for such a scholarship is $25,000.

Campus Improvement Plan

Thaw Hall

The basement of Carnegie Hall is being reconfigured to provide much-needed office and classroom space lost to other construction and renovation projects on campus. In addition to new walls and new paint, the space received new lighting and data wiring.

PROFFITTS ESTABLISH SCHOLARSHIP

Bill and Vera Proffitt

In recognition of the help they received as students and to motivate others to give back, Bill ’49 and Vera Lusk Proffitt ’49 have established a scholarship for deserving students at the College. Read their story on the MC web site.

MC GROUP CONDUCTING RESEARCH IN CHINA

With funding from the Freeman Foundation, Dr. Scott Henson, assistant professor of political science, and five students are currently in rural China conducting research. A story on the MC web site shares more about this one-of-a-kind opportunity for our students.

AREA CHILDREN INVITED TO JOIN PROJECT LEAD

SCOTS RANKED THIRD IN PRESEASON POLL

For the first time since MC joined the USA South Conference, the Scots have been predicted to finish near the top. Read the story on the MC web site and make plans to get a sneak-peak in an Aug. 22 scrimmage with Birmingham-Southern. Action gets underway at 1:30 p.m. on Honaker Field and the practice field.

CHURCHES INVITED TO AUG. 24 PICNIC

The annual Church & College Picnic, scheduled for 5:45 p.m. on the grounds outside Pearsons Hall, still has space for local church representatives and displays. The picnic is a great fun way for congregations to introduce themselves to first-year students. Approximately 20 alumni and friends joined director Steven Yuhasz ’75 and actors Jamie Farr and Anita Gillette (front row) at the post-performance reception of Off-Broadway’s “Flamingo Court” on July 26.
