Upcoming

All of the College’s vocal ensembles will begin rehearsals early next month. The Community Chorus, which will be performing “The Messiah” in December, starts up Sept. 7. The College has added a high school ensemble to the offerings. Read the release online for details.

If you’re celebrating a reunion at Homecoming 2010 (Oct. 22-23), watch your mailboxes for info, which is currently being mailed out. The weekend will be one celebration after another, so plan to be here!

“The Hispanic/Latino Minority and Our National Parks: Encouraging Values of Ownership and Stewardship to Minority Classes” — An avid hiker, Ben Royer ’10 has long noticed an absence of minorities along the trail. He set out to discover why — and how the parks can attract more visitors. Read more.

Roxana SaberiJOURNALIST ROXANA SABERI VISITS CAMPUS SEPT. 15

Saberi, who was imprisoned for 100 days in Iran, will speak as part of the College’s Community Conversations Series on human rights. Matt Murrill ’08 opens the series Aug. 31. Read the release online .

Printing PressCENTURY-OLD LETTERPRESS DONATED TO COLLEGE

Brothers Mike and Lee Davis have donated to the College’s Fine Arts Division the makings of a print shop, including a Chandler & Price Letterpress. The donation will help 21st-Century students better understand the roots of typography. Read the release online.
