Upcoming

Go online and check out details of the March 2009 Alumni Association trip to Italy.

Attention Sunshine State residents and “Snowbirds:” The Florida Alumni Reunion is scheduled for Jan. 17 in Orlando. Visit the alumni events page for details.

Undergraduate Research

We’re replacing “From the Classroom” with a new web feature that focuses on outstanding Senior Studies. If you’re an alumnus/alumna, you may have called these “Independent Studies,” “Special Studies” or “Senior Thesis.” Whatever your familiarity with this graduation requirement, you’re sure to be impressed with the caliber of undergraduate research being conducted by MC students. This month, you can read about English major Andrea May ’07 and her advanced study of Sylvia Plath’s work.

Undergraduate Research

Sadly, Maryville College lost English professor and administrator Arthur Bushing ’43 last week, but he did live to accept recognition as a “Legend of Anderson Hall.” Seventeen “charter” legends were recognized at Founderís Day on Oct. 16. To find out more about this fundraising project to renovate the interior of Anderson, visit the MC web site.

Campaign Update

Want to know where fund-raising stands for the Civic Arts Center? The Anderson Hall renovation? Endowment and the Maryville Fund? The MC web site provides regular updates.
