As our tween and teen students become aware of recent events, some may experience heightened levels of personal stress and anxiety. Some live in homes w/ same-sex parents or have loved ones who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. Some ARE lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, but afraid to reveal that identity. All of us can provide pivotal support to these students by creating spaces that are inclusive of everyone, by modeling affirming attitudes and behaviors, and by speaking out against bullying behaviors of any kind.
