Greetings All: As many of you may or may not know, I am the new adviser for Beta-Beta-Beta (Or Tri-Beta), the National Biological Honor Society of which Maryville College is a member. It is time to get this organization up and running full steam again to provide maximum benefits and opportunities for all Natural Science students, biology or otherwise. THUS, tomorrow at 12:20 in Sutton Room 233, I will be discussing some of the background, opportunities, membership requirements, future directions, and the need for leadership positions for this organization at the ACS meeting taking place at the same time. It has been my and Dr. Duncan's vision to have these two organizations work together, and tomorrow will be the start of that. Please contact me if you have any questions. Hope to see you there! Best, Dr. Unger A little background on BBB: "Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 200,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 670 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico." Had the privilege of hearing Dr. Unger's lecture on the human perception of carnivores here at JU today. Great lecture, Dr. U! Made me feel like I was home in Maryville again. Sorry I had to leave a little early for class, but it was great seeing you!
