Maryville College provides generous scholarship and award opportunities to deserving students. Scholarships are awarded based on academic information, student interest, student leadership and/or talent. In instances where a candidate qualifies for more than one scholarship, s/he will receive the largest scholarship for which s/he is eligible. In cases where students are eligible to receive more than one award, the total cannot exceed tuition.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship


Awarded to potential student leaders. Candidates must be members of Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society, have 40 transferable credits and have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. All-USA Academic team nominees are eligible for an additional $1,000 added to their PTK scholarship. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$22,000 each year for residential students. $20,000 each year for commuter students. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 3.0 GPA and leadership participation.

MC Distinguished Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 3.50 and above grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$21,000 each year for residential students. $19,000 each year for commuter students. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 3.00 GPA.

MC Honors Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 3.00 to 3.49 grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$20,000 each year for residential students. $18,000 each year for commuter students. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.75 GPA.

MC Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 2.50 to 2.99 grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$18,000 each year for residential students. $16,000 each year for commuter students. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.50 GPA.

MC Scots Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 2.00 to 2.49 grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$17,000 each year for residential students. $15,000 each year for commuter students. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.00 GPA.

Church & College Fellowships


Awarded to entering transfer students who are active members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) or the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and who are committed to providing three hours per week of volunteer service to local Presbyterian churches. Will be in addition to the student's MC Academic scholarship. A campus interview is required. 

Annual award of $2,500. Renewable with commitment to leadership involvement and 2.50 GPA.

Music Scholarship


Open to music majors on the basis of individual talent. Recipients are required to participate in related music ensemble. Will replace the student's MC Academic scholarship. An audition is required.

Up to full tuition. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study.

Theatre Scholarship


Open to theatre majors on the basis of individual talent. Prefer at least two years prior participation in theatre productions. Will replace the student's MC Academic scholarship. An audition is required.

Up to $23,000. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study.

Art Scholarship


Open to art majors on the basis of individual talent. Will replace the student's MC Academic scholarship. Portfolio submission is required.

Up to $23,000. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study.

ALANA Cultural Diversity Award


Open to entering transfer students demonstrating academic promise, leadership potential and the ability to contribute to cultural diversity. Recipients are required to participate in related campus organizations.

Up to $2,500. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with minimum GPA of 2.50 each year.

Mountain Challenge Staff Award


Awarded to an entering transfer student with a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average who is interested in developing leadership skills while taking part in one of the South's premier outdoor adventure programs.  A campus interview is required. 

$5,000 each year. Renewable with continued commitment to program participation.

Instrumental Music Ensemble Award


Open to non-music majors on the basis of individual talent. Recipients are required to participate in a related music ensemble. Audition required.

Up to $2,500. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with continued involvement in a music ensemble.

Choral Award


Open to non-music majors. Prefer at least two years prior participation in a high school chorus. Audition required.

Up to $2,500. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with continued involvement in a choral ensemble.

MC Playhouse Award


Open to non-theatre majors. Prefer at least two years of prior participation in theatre productions. Audition required. 

Up to $2,500. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with continued involvement in theatre productions.

Equestrian Award

Awarded to a highly qualified equestrian who has been riding and showing for a minimum of three years preferably at three foot fences or higher. Minimum transfer gpa of 2.5. A rider bio and riding video or in person interview are required. *Pony Club members are eligible for an additional award up to $2,500. 

$5,000 each year. Renewable with continued commitment to program participation.

Veterans' Benefits

Maryville College welcomes veterans and their eligible dependents who wish to attend Maryville College as full-time students and who are eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill and/or the Yellow Ribbon Program benefits. Students must apply for GI benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
