Maryville College provides generous scholarship and award opportunities to deserving students. Scholarships are awarded based on academic information, student interest, student leadership and/or talent. In instances where a candidate qualifies for more than one scholarship, s/he will receive the largest scholarship for which s/he is eligible. Applications may be submitted through mail, in person, or fax to the Maryville College Office of Admissions.

Academic Scholarship Information


Awarded to potential student leaders. Candidates must be members of Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society, have 40 transferable credits and have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. All-USA Academic team nominees are eligible for an additional $1,000 added to their PTK scholarship. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$20,000 each year for residential students and $18,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 3.0 GPA and leadership participation.

MC Distinguished Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 3.50 and above grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$19,000 each year for residential students and $17,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 3.00 GPA.

MC Honors Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 3.00 to 3.49 grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$18,000 each year for residential students and $16,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.75 GPA.

MC Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 2.50 to 2.99 grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$17,000 each year for residential students and $15,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.50 GPA.

MC Scots Scholarship


Awarded to entering transfer students with a 2.00 to 2.49 grade point average. No formal application required; it is considered as part of the college application process by academic profile.
$16,000 each year for residential students and $14,000 for commuters. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.00 GPA.

Church & College Fellowships


Awarded to entering transfer students who are active members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) or the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and who are committed to providing three hours per week of volunteer service to local Presbyterian churches. Will be in addition to the student's MC Academic scholarship. A campus interview is required. Application required.

Music Scholarship


Open to music majors on the basis of individual talent. Recipients are required to participate in related music ensemble. Will replace the student's MC Academic scholarship. An audition is required. Application required.

Mountain Challenge Staff Award


Awarded to an entering transfer student with a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average who is interested in developing leadership skills while taking part in one of the South's premier outdoor adventure programs.  A campus interview is required.  Submit your application by June 1.

Veterans' Benefits

Maryville College welcomes veterans and their eligible dependents who wish to attend Maryville College as full-time students and who are eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill and/or the Yellow Ribbon Program benefits. Students must apply for GI benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
