Services and Ceremonies

Baccalaureate services are planned for 2 PM, May 17, 2015 in the Clayton Center for the Arts.  

Graduation exercises for the Class of 2015 will be held at 6 PM, May 17, on the lawn between Anderson Hall and Sutton Science Center.  In case of inclement weather, Commencement will be moved to the Clayton Center for the Arts, Ronald and Lynda Nutt Theatre. Seating will be by ticket only. Seniors will be allotted 4 tickets each. All other guests may view the ceremony in the Boydson Baird Gymnasium in the Cooper Athletic Center where it will be broadcast live in high definition on the large screen.  The decision to move inside will be announced at Baccalaureate.  Seniors will be able to pick up tickets during graduation rehearsal.

The Class of 2015 will hold graduation rehearsal in the Alumni Gym at 1:00 PM (immediately following the Senior Barbecue) on Friday, May 15.  Seniors who are marching are encouraged to bring a pen or pencil.  Inclement weather tickets will be distributed during graduation rehearsal.  A photo ID will be required to pick up tickets and they must be signed for.



Graduating seniors, the College’s faculty and staff members, and members of the College’s Alumni Board are invited to the annual Senior Barbecue, scheduled for 12 PM, May 15, in the McArthur Pavilion. Sponsored by the College’s Alumni Association, the barbecue means great food, refreshing beverages and memorable times with friends. The Senior class gift will also be presented to Dr. Bogart at this time. Invitations will be sent, and reservations will be taken. 

The annual Graduation Celebration for graduating seniors and their families will be held at 8 PM, May 16 in Isaac’s, located in Bartlett Hall.  Sponsored by Student Development, the event is held to honor the Class of 2015 and their families.  Dress is dressy-casual.  Invitations will be sent , and reservations can be made by contacting Sheree O’Connor at 865.981.8213 or by e-mail to


Other Area Events

The Smoky Mountain Highland Games will also be taking place on the Maryville campus May 16 – 17. This event brings people from all over the country to Maryville for a weekend of competition, fun, and games.  Please find time while you are here for graduation to visit the games.
