Career Center Policies and Employer Guidelines
The Career Center requires that any recruiting organization or individual utilizing these services must abide by all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.
Maryville College abides by employer regulations outlined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Employment Professionals.
Maryville College reserves the right to refuse service to organizations or individuals due to the following:
-Requiring personal information at the time of application, such as bank and social security numbers
- Refraining from “exploding offers” where students should not be pressured to accept offers “on the spot” or “early.” Students should be referred to our Career Center if they have questions or concerns
-Refraining from any activity or recruiting practices that may interfere with daily student activities (i.e. loud music, games, harassment of any kind).
-Breach of confidentiality as required by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
