Description

A study of non-art musics of the world from an entnomusicological perspective. The course will introduce students to basic enthnomusicological concepts and methods, including fieldwork, transcription, and analysis. Further areas of study may include historical, philosophical, and cultural study of non-art musics of the world. Reading, listening, analysis, and a field work project are required.
