I’m a New Year’s baby, a country boy, and a gentleman. I was the first baby born in 1988 on January 1st at Maryville College's closest hospital located just 0.4 miles away from campus. I like to think that I just crawled over to the campus and started my career, however, just like everyone else I had to take the right steps first. Raised on a farm in Louisville, TN, I attended Middlesettlements Elementary (K-8), grew up playing baseball at Eagleton Ball Park, and then transferred to Maryville Middle School at the beginning of my 8th grade year. I then advanced to Maryville High School graduating in 2006. My journey led me to graduate with a B.S. degree in Education at Carson-Newman College in 2010. As of today, I have been an Admissions Counselor for four years. I’m blessed to say that Maryville is home.

Why I Love MC

Location. Location. Location. If you have read my BIO, or the bios of others in our office, you will find that Maryville College is the best place to get an education. Maryville is a small college town of 23,000 (and is only 15 miles from Knoxville, Tennessee) and 1,200 of these are MC students! I also love that the College was founded in 1819 for the purpose of furthering education. In fact, MC is on the national registry for being one of 50 oldest colleges in the United States and 12th-oldest in the South. Located “15 minutes from anywhere,” you will find a 9-mile Maryville-Alcoa Greenway, Blount Memorial Hospital, McGhee Tyson Airport, Foothills Mall, The Kimsey Farm (my family's farm), and of course the Great Smoky Mountains! These are just a few of the reasons why I love Maryville College and the City of Maryville!
