Location and Size: Rhodes is located on the Eastern Cape, in Grahamstown, a city of about 100,000 people, founded by missionaries in the early nineteenth century. Grahamstown, located in a rural, agricultural area where grazing is common, is about a 30-minute drive from beautiful Indian Ocean beaches. Founded in 1904, Rhodes has an enrollment of almost 4,000 students.

Academic Program: Rhodes offers courses in 34 departments in 6 faculties. It has an excellent science program and English literature program, and it encourages interdisciplinary work. A vast array of coursework is available.

Language Requirement: None.

Room & Board: Almost 6 in 10 students live on campus. MC students live in campus housing, not unlike dormitories in the U.S. A variety of different "halls" are available.

Cost: Students pay regular tuition, room fees (equivalent to a double room), and a 19/week meal plan to Maryville College, plus technology and activity fees. The student is responsible for airfare.

When to go: Students can go in either the fall or the spring semesters.
