Add an entry to Today@MC
Today@MC is a daily (Monday - Friday at 7 a.m.) electronic newsletter that goes to the faculty, staff, and students of Maryville College published by the Office of Communications.
1. What’s Appropriate:
All posts will be reviewed before publishing. Posts are to be limited to content with direct ties to Maryville College, such as College sponsored sporting, arts and cultural events and certain community programs which have been approved by the College. It is also appropriate to use Today@MC as a vehicle to communicate announcements regarding schedules, office closings, memos and other items, which will affect all or many campus offices. Messages regarding personal items for sale, promotion, or announcements not directly related to the College will be omitted from the newsletter.
2. Deadlines:
Items for Today@MC should be entered by 3 p.m. to be listed in the next day’s newsletter. Items for Monday editions must be submitted on Friday. There are generally no newsletters during Christmas break or other official holidays when the College is closed.
3. Repeats:
Entries about a subject or event will NOT be run more than 3 times. Please DO NOT submit 3 dates to run for "This is going to happen in 2 weeks..." then 3 more for "This is happening in X days", then another "This is happening today". 3 means 3 Total. They can be submitted once with 3 dates selected to run (Preferred) or submited 3 times with one date and different text in each entry.
4. Coordination of Entries:
To avoid duplicate entries, please coordinate with your group/dept. and assign one person to be responsible for the Today@MC entry. In the case of duplicate entries, the one with the most complete information will be selected for use.
5. Style:
Today@MC is an official publication of the College. As such, the newsletter is pre-formatted so that each issue has a uniform and consistent look. To maintain this consistency please use upper and lower case (not all caps) for text. Please try not over use bold or italic text. Also, do not format your text to look like a flier. If an entry is submitted with too much peripheral formatting, chances are that will not appear as intended.
6. Attachments:
NOTE: Only .gif, .jpg, .png, and .pdf files will be accepted as attachments.
