Ellington Lloyd Adams It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Ellington Lloyd Adams (Marietta, Georgia), who passed away at the age of 27, on July 27, 2019. Family and friends can send flowers and/or light a candle as a loving gesture for their loved one. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Ellington Lloyd Adams to show support. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10th 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Southern Cremations and Funerals Columbarium (1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10th 2019 at 4:00 PM at the same location.

Mary Moates ’14 has been named Associate Director of Publicity at Crown Publishing, a high profile imprint of Penguin Random House that has published bestselling books by the Obamas, Volodymyr Zelensky, and many more esteemed world voices. She is married to Dr. Rev. Jordan Tarwater ’13. They live in New York City.

Marietta College announced the hiring of Kristy Newman ’14 as the Pioneers’ new head volleyball coach. Newman becomes the 12th head coach in program history. died Sept. 9, 2014. He was a first-year graduate student in the entomology program at Clemson University. He was a well respected and honorable student during his time at Maryville College and Clemson. He is survived by his parents, brother, family and friends.

David White ’14 will be attending Colorado State University in the fall to pursue a Master’s of Science in Computer Science focusing on Machine Learning.

David graduated with his Ph.D. in computer science from Colorado State University in May 2022. He is now an applied scientist at Amazon, doing research on machine learning and computer vision. David and his wife, Kat McNeely-White (’17), recently moved to West Sacramento, CA.

Kelly graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2017 with an MA in Linguistic Theory and Typology. During her time there she presented her work at several national conferences and an international conference in Sarajevo. She also taught Linguistics, Rhetoric, and Communication courses as a primary instructor. Most recently, she was asked to lead a three hour workshop at the Linguistics Society of America Summer Institute, a month-long, biannual gathering of the field. This workshop (
