Class Notes

I work at a sticker company called Pipsticks and design a monthly subscription of Hello Kitty & Friends stickers! I am the lead designer and design each monthly collection on my own which consists of 15 sticker sheets. This is a DREAM job, and my time at MC made it possible!

Mason Eschenberg (class of 2017) and Morgan Haley (Saxon) Eschenberg (class of 2017) Welcomed Ellis Graham Eschenberg on July 24th, 2023

Yasuo is currently working in an IT business department at a financial security company in Tokyo, Japan. He just finished setting up monitoring all of the company’s servers in real time. He says, “all I am doing is because of my Maryville College education. I want to thank all of the faculty and staff at MC.”

Lane came into our lives on April 11th, 1995 bringing an abundance of love, life, joy, pride and lots of adventure. He was strong and wicked smart with the quickest wit. He loved to laugh and made everyone around him laugh. Lane was the man of our house from age 8. He was strong in spirit and was the fiercest protector of his “Momma” and Annie and a long line of cherished family and friends.

We know Lane was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and a host of loved ones, and we rest in our faith that we will see him again in glory. For sure he is sharing some of his best Lane-isms with all of Heaven.

The Trust Company of Tennessee has hired Bethany Headrick as business analyst, based in the firm’s Knoxville office.

Headrick is a graduate of Maryville College (2017). She resides in Maryville.

Erika has accepted a position at Heritage High School as an English teach beginning fall 2018.

Bryan Horton ’18 accepted a position as 7th grade math teacher at Weaver Middle School, Bibb County School System in Georgia.

Virginia Johnson ’17 has been officially into the Peace Corps. and will be moving to Zambia in fall 2018. to teach English. She is currently working with AmeriCorps in San Francisco Bay area.

I am currently serving in Zambia as an education Peace Corps volunteer. I’m working with my community to build a library for the use of our students and other community members. We are working hard, but we need help financially so that we can purchase all the books and materials we need. writes in to share, “I finished her M.A. in Psychology (Human Factors and Applied Cognition) in December and recently accepted a position with Deloitte Consulting in Arlington, VA. My core team consults with the Human Performance Branch of the TSA. Most of my work will be focused on improving Human Systems Integration. I’m so excited to be at this job, and I’m so thankful for all of your counsel while I was at MC.”

Everett Cleveland ’17 and Eleni Mavres ’17 were engaged at Maryville College on March 29, 2020 where they first met and began dating back in 2014.

On the morning of January 25, 2018, Adam Russell Peppers passed peacefully from his year-and-a-half battle with cancer. Adam was surrounded by family at his dad’s home in Dallas, Georgia. He was 41 years old. Adam was born in Riverdale, Georgia on the morning of December 6, 1976. He was the first of 3 boys birthed to parents Cindy Eberhart and Ray Peppers. Adam was a full-time college student at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee upon his diagnosis. He was studying actuarial sciences and outdoor education and was president of the Maryville College Student Veteran Association. Adam proudly served in the United States Army’s 310th Bio Nuclear Chemical Special Ops unit, serving time in Afghanistan shortly after the 9/11 tragedy. He loved his country and loved his friends, but loved his family most of all. Adam’s survivors include his daughter, Madison Peppers; son Michael Peppers, daughters Jasmine Delgado, Selena Delgado, Maria Hollander (Josh) and grandchildren Leeland and Gracie; mother Cindy Eberhart (Doug); father Ray Peppers (Sharon); brothers Nick Peppers and Kevin Peppers (Angela) and sister Connie Chatham (Kevin); nieces Katelyn Bouwmans, Gwendolyn Peppers, Clara Peppers, Abby Serviss, nephews Jacob Serviss, Collin Peppers, and many cousins, aunts and uncles that love him dearly. The family would like to express their thanks to Halcyon Hospice of Cumming and Villa Rica, the staff at the Atlanta VA Medical Center and all of Adam’s friends/family who took part in his wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help cover costs over and above what the VA provides for its veterans. In October 2019, Emily Randles ’17 was provisionally appointed to be the campus intern with the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter at Maryville College. She is grateful to be serving her alma mater in this way!

Kat completed her doctoral training at Colorado State University in May 2022, receiving a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology. She and her husband, David McNeely-White (’14), have since moved to California, where Kat has accepted a postdoctoral scholar position at University of California, Davis, where she works in the Department of Neurology, studying the neural circuitry of memory processes in patients with epilepsy undergoing sEEG surgery.

Katherine McNeely-White (’17) and David McNeely-White (’14) welcomed a son, Jasper Leigh McNeely-White, on December 5th, 2023.

Erika J. Hipsky ’17 married Joshua T. Wolfe on May 28, 2022.
